Lens Flare

Image
Firstly, we went onto Pexels to pick our suitable video. After uploading it into Premiere Pro, we rendered the video before going to the effects tab. Next we found and chose the lens flare effect and dragged it to our video project. We were then able to pull the scale, enabling the flare to move around the screen at opposite ends, as well as changing the brightness up and down. To enable the flare moving, we started at the beginning of the video by changing the scale and selecting the stopwatch icon. This then meant we could go to the end of our video, change the position of the flare again using the scale. This then meant went playing our video, the flare moves across the screen as intended. Lastly, we rendered the video once again and exported it.

Editing Practice

Within my small edit, I featured several different transitions and effects to further my knowledge of editing and the software. I began with fading in my video while soon after fading in the audio to go along with it, all while presenting text on screen. Afterwards, I faded my audio out to fade in another, while inserting more video footage, before fading out the video before the audio (a J cut). Then my video cut straight into another, and towards the end I presented two clips on screen at the same time (cross-cutting).  This small process has let me discover different features within the editing software which I haven't used before, such as the different transitions as well as cross-cutting, which i will use in future projects.
