Documentary evaluation

What did you do to a high standard?

I think I completed the majority of my planning to a high standard - but I do think I could go back and  improve/ add more detail to some posts. As well as this I think my documentary turned out to be a high standard, but again I think there’s a lot I can improve on.

Why did you struggle during the assessment period?

There were parts of my documentary I struggled to find footage for but in the end I think that was okay as I could improvise. I think the editing process went okay as around this time last year during the first lockdown, I ended up editing a short film using iMovie as I felt it was the software I felt most comfortable using. I think what helped with this project is that it was on a topic I enjoy and am passionate about. Therefore while being in lockdown and feeling like I have felt less motivated, I was still able to work through and complete my documentary as it's topic is something I enjoy.

What have you learnt from this experience?

Looking at the topic of my documentary itself, I learnt a lot more about vinyl and their history. But overall, I think I learnt more about working independently and finding material.

How can you improve your work before the resubmission on the 22nd of February?

I think in my documentary there are some things I could change and possibly add on. I think I could re-record my voiceover so that it's perhaps more clear since I think at times I spoke too fast. As well as this, I was originally going to discuss where I buy records from myself but since the local record stores are shut due to Covid I decided against it, but I think now I could add it on and still discuss the situation and where to buy them in times like the present. As well as this, watching it back I think there are some clips I could replace or perhaps make longer.
