Induction Creative Brief - Planning

Promotional Video

Target Audience

For my promotional video, my target audience would be both teenagers coming from school / a different college, and adults, hoping to send their children to college.

My video needs to promote things like a range of different courses and facilities, making it appeal to a large audience. I believe teenagers would most likely want a promotional video which is interesting while also informative.

After already creating a promotional video for the college in my previous year, I aim to improve by including more information within my video about the college, perhaps using different transitions to make it seem more professional, and possibly making it longer.

Within my video, I would include different shots of around the college - opening up with a wide / long shot of the entrance. More wide shots, and perhaps some close ups, of around the campus would be used. Using text, I would give information on the screen explaining what the college is like and what you can do there - being as informative as possible in hope that people will attend the college.

It's important to be as detailed as possible in this case since the aim of the video is to attract people to come here. In the video I would explain all the different courses that are available, hoping to reach a larger audience.

After planning out my video and deciding on the target audience, I need to collect a range of images of the college to form into a montage. Once I have found my images, I need to accompany them with suitable music.

Having collected my range of images of around the college, I then searched for royalty free music sites to find something suitable for my video. After looking through different sites and testing out sounds, I finally found a sound which I thought would match my promotional video well.
